Job Title: Computer Operator
Location: Dallas, TX
Pay Rate: $17.82/hour
Schedule: Night shift Wed - Sunday 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM with Monday and Tuesday off
Growth Potential: Exceptional candidate may be moved into a long-term temporary role, contingent upon performance
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor computer systems, networks, and applications for performance, errors, or alerts requiring immediate attention.

Operate designated software and hardware to generate and send alerts as required.

Draft, review, and send alerts, notifications, or advisories to city departments, public agencies, and residents based on established protocols.

Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and timeliness of all alerts.

Respond promptly to alerts, warnings, or emergency situations by initiating appropriate communication workflows.

Collaborate with city officials and department heads to prioritize and escalate urgent notifications.

Maintain logs of all alerts, system activity, and communications for auditing and reporting purposes.

Generate reports on system performance, alert metrics, and operational activities.

Perform routine checks to ensure systems are operational and functioning as intended.

Coordinate with IT teams to troubleshoot issues, install updates, and conduct scheduled maintenance.

Adhere to city policies, confidentiality requirements, and communication standards.

Stay updated on changes to alert protocols, systems, and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

A background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Prior experience in IT operations, communication systems, or a similar role is advantageous.

Proficiency in computer operations, including system monitoring tools and communication platforms.

Familiarity with database management, email systems, and alert software.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
