Job Title : Purchasing Clerk / Order Handler
Location : Denton, TX
Pay : $22 / hr based on experience
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Duration : 12 month contract
Summary :
Responsible for supporting the Purchasing and Planning Departments on procurement of industrial materials and purchase requisitions from the supplier at the lowest cost without jeopardizing quality standards. Ensuring we are servicing our internal and external customers within a timely manner. Execute data analysis and data entry task assigned by Purchasing Manager or Inventory Control & Planning Manager.
Duties :
Inventory on hand by product code
Units sold by product code
Assist Purchasing Team with updating component safety stock, ordering points, and supplier lead times to improve ERP message accuracy
Execute Supplier Analysis Projects that include collecting the following data to ensure we properly prioritize Purchase Orders for Suppliers with raw material shortages :
Inventory on hand
Compare inventory on hand to Forecast to determine weeks / months of inventory supply
Identify types of resin or raw material required for a part number
Identify resin or raw suppliers by looking up information on the product drawing specification sheets
Updating promised delivery dates for Purchase Orders. This will improve the accuracy of our On-Time delivery reports, and hold Suppliers accountable to meet planned delivery dates.
Follow up with Suppliers on past due invoices
Monitor RM inventory levels to meet corporate inventory valuation objectives.
Review purchase price variances for raw material purchases.
Requirements :
Must have purchasing or buying experience
Must have knowledge of SAP program
Basic experience in materials planning and / or manufacturing environment.
Must be self-motivated and driven to meet company goals and expectations.
Computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Ability to make decisions, problem solve, and prioritize assignments in an ever-changing procurement environment.
