Descriptive Summary
The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for the completion of daily tasks within the Food Hub. Daily tasks will include picking orders, loading/unloading trucks, maintain inventory accuracy, receiving products and other essential duties. Accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism are vital to the success of this position and for the company.
Qualifications
Key Performance Indicators
- Meet and maintain accuracy within distribution goals.
- Receive and inspect food and non-food items destined for food assistance providers and stock racks.
- Weigh in and weigh out food and non-food items, as necessary, and maintain proper record keeping utilizing warehouse inventory system.
- Ensure all food and non-food items are handled, stored, and distributed in a safe and sanitary manner as per ServSafe Food Handler certification and Public Health Department requirements.
- Pick and package orders and facilitate pick-up or delivery of orders.
- Do pick-ups and deliveries utilizing a Cornerstones vehicle, including large (non-CDL) box truck.
- Check, restock and rotate inventory, inspect for damage, and verify counts.
- Maintain areas by keeping areas clean, neat, and orderly, and completes daily warehouse sanitation logs.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment and follow all safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Complete equipment checklists to maintain warehouse equipment.
- Maintain familiarity and knowledge of Food Hub inventory, locations, and priorities regarding incoming orders.
- Work independently.
- May be responsible for entering overages and shortages into warehouse management system in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Maintain the highest standards of customer service and professionalism that creates positive customer experiences reflecting well upon the warehouse and Cornerstones.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend meetings and trainings related to advancing the mission of the Food Hub.
- Act as an ambassador of the Food Hub when conducting business with volunteers, donors, potential donors, and Strategic Partner/Collaborator agencies.
- Keep current any driver license, material handling equipment license/certification and other permit/license required to perform duties.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
- 1-2 years warehouse experience.
- Forklift experience ((certified or willing to be certified on-the-job).
- Digital competency, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), as well as web browsers and similar software.
Experience and Skills
- Ability to effectively use inventory control software.
- Food handling experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Operate common warehouse equipment as needed including pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment. Certification required (current or to be obtained).
- Food certification required (current or to be obtained).
- Bilingual - English & Spanish (Preferred).
- Ability to use a racial equity lens and demonstrate cultural competency in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Criminal background checks are mandatory for all Cornerstones employees.

Work Environment
This position is set in both an office and a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including freezers and outdoor weather conditions and necessitates the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 7 hours, in a warehouse setting. Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, repetitively lift and carry 75 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment. With forklift traffic in the facility and product stacked and stored throughout, this position requires someone who is alert for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. Travel to and from other work or Partner/Collaborator sites, in personal or agency vehicles, is required.
