Cornerstones of Maine is offering an exciting opportunity to become part of our prestigious residential young adult mental health program as Per Diem licensed nurse. Cornerstones of Maine has been offering research-driven mental health services to young adults for almost a decade and we are continuing to expand as we open a Residential Treatment Center in early 2025. A strong candidate has experience working in residential or in-patient settings with young adults who are struggling with obstacles to their mental health.
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) or Nurse Practicioners to join our multidisciplinary team. RN's will play a crucial role in supporting the physical and mental health needs of our young adult residents, working closely with therapists and medical providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, health assessments, and management of medical conditions.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor the physical and mental health of residents, identifying any changes in condition and responding appropriately.
- Facilitate groups and individual sessions for residents on wellness and self-care practices.
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during psychiatric emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing program development.
Requirements:
- Current Maine State License as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
- Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or residential care settings preferred.
- Must be able to emotionally and professionally handle charged emotional situations
- Must be able to function independently when needed, as the sole medical personnel on staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in working with young adults experiencing mental health challenges.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
