Cornhusker Public Power District in Columbus, NE, has an opening for a Utility Power Electrical Engineer (Distribution: 7.2- 12.470 kV/Sub-Transmission: 34.5 kV).

The purpose of the Power Electrical Engineer is to be responsible for the engineering and work order preparation for all work on the district’s electric system. The Power Electrical Engineer will have expertise in power system planning and design. This position will cover generation, transmission, and distribution. The Power Electrical Engineer collaborates with numerous suppliers, vendors, contractors, developers, and customers to plan, design, and implement new additions to the electric system and prepares for long-range construction programs. (overhead and underground systems)


Education and experience

·        Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

·        At least 2 years of experience in Electrical Distribution System.

·        Design and implementation of PV Systems (a plus).

·        At least 2 years of work experience related to electrical engineering.

·        Supervisory experience. (preferred)

·        Maintain a valid Nebraska driver’s license with a responsible driving record.
