The position Coordinator of Nursing Simulation Lab is responsible for supporting and be a resource for students in our Nursing Skills Lab (NSL); supervising of the physical facilities, the equipment housed in the NSL, and any personnel assigned to the lab (staff assistants, work-study students, and departmental tutors); keeping and maintaining of lab records, equipment, and the scheduling and coordination of the educational use of the NSL by students and faculty. Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 30 pounds (occasionally may be more), repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical office and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Educational Duties 85%: Provide assistance to students and faculty using simulation and maintain safety standards with regard to equipment use and hazardous waste disposal Guide the learning experiences of students in NSL, including skill demonstrations Plan, prepare, and provide skill demonstrations, including reviews of specific skills with which students are having difficulty, as identified by their clinical instructors. Report student progress related to skill demonstrations to faculty, as appropriate. Assist with execution of simulation in control room running computer component as needed. Coordinate with NSL staff and nursing faculty scheduling and implementing daily activities to provide an optimum learning environment for students. Attend conferences, workshops, etc. for continuing education/clinical growth. Act as a resource for students; refer students to faculty, as needed. Develop and display resource materials to support and reinforce theory and skills. Maintain selected nursing reference and resource materials. Set up necessary equipment. Provide review sessions for students who have been identified by their clinical instructors as having difficulty with specific skills. Evaluate student skill performance. Attend department and division meetings.Participate in ACEN site visit preparation meetings.Program Management Duties 10%: Collaborate with NSL staff and faculty to develop and submit NSL line item requests for input into the Nurse Education.Negotiate with vendors for identification of most cost-effective supplies and equipment.Provide input to the Director of Nurse Education regarding NSL staff performance evaluation process.Work with NSL staff and Director of Nurse Education to assess and determine the NSL needs related to the grant procurement process.Work with the Director of Nurse Education and Administrative Assistant to manage grant funds designated for NSL.Attend Freshman Recognition and Sophomore Pinning ceremonies.Program Recruitment/Other 5%: Provide tours for current and prospective students. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required Current NYS RN license CPR certification at the professional level Minimum of two years of recent clinical work experience in a relevant healthcare setting, with maintenance of clinical competency 'Membership in a professional nursing organizationPreferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing preferredStarting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience, education, market demands, and training.
