Position Summary
The D&IT AI Platform & Products team is seeking an experienced and hands-on Product Owner to lead the development and ownership of our internal Generative AI capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with businesses to understand their Gen AI needs, identify high-value opportunities, and deliver impactful AI solutions. This role requires strategic thinking, high-level understanding of LLM capabilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive the successful implementation and adoption of GenAI solutions across Corning’s businesses. You will define the product’s roadmap, oversee its management, and ensure alignment with business priorities and objectives. In this role, you will also work cross functionally to scale and grow AI functions that support future business growth.
Responsibilities
The range for this position is $176,785.00 - $243,080.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our Gen AI product, liaising between businesses, technical teams, and stakeholders.
- Identify valuable opportunities from a list of current opportunities and prioritize based on business value, enterprise scale, and level-set business partners’ expectations
- Guide development team on backlog priorities and build roadmap with timelines, ensuring the team delivers on schedule
- Evaluate new opportunities for Gen AI applications within the business and determine the feasibility of these initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, clearly outlining the vision, direction, and progress of the product.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog to ensure that the team is working on tasks that maximize business value and deliver necessary features and functionalities.
- Collaborate with the development team to translate business needs into detailed user stories and requirements.
- Coordinate with other product owners and teams to align strategies, ensure efficient workflow, and achieve high-level company objectives.
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to stay ahead of developments in the Generative AI field.
- Oversee product cost and high-level usage monitoring of the platform
- Define and implement product KPI’s to recognize product value.
- Drive product adoption by promoting its capabilities and benefits to stakeholders and end-users.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with 7 years proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a digital technology organization.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI, its applications, and potential business value.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload.
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- General understanding of data management, data engineering, and data integration principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges in Gen AI product management
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business needs and requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest advancements in Gen AI technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
- Experience managing Generative AI products and/or use cases
- General understanding of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their ML/AI services.
- Experience with OpenAI, Amazon AI technologies
- Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices in ML/AI.
