This role requires a highly curious technical analyst to support to assist in preventing, detecting, investigating, responding, and mitigating threats to Corning, including intellectual property theft, espionage, fraud, sabotage, and unauthorized data disclosure.
Insider Risk Operations, a part of Investigations and Intelligence, leads the discovery and integration of information (intelligence) in order to identify, analyze, and resolve risk to the People, Information and Operations of Corning Incorporated. We work closely with the larger investigations team to identify and support cases.
In this position, you will play a key role on a team of intelligence and security professionals to create, implement, maintain, and analyze Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls to reduce risk and enforce Corning policies and standards. Key ResponsibilitiesReview, analyze, and triage anomalous data activity events to protect data in accordance with relevant regional regulations, corporate and business policies, and contractual commitmentsMonitor for and respond to potential data loss or intellectual policy theft-related events generated from traffic transiting the Corning networkCorrelate and analyze multiple data sources to determine severity and intent of anomalous behavior or security eventsFollow established data protection incident response playbooks, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve detection and escalation methodsSupport the development and testing of new data protection technologies and toolsDevelop and collect metrics to support organizational requirements, measure progress and growth, and identify areas for improvementConfiguration and calibration of software tools to better meet our objectives and those of our customers using logical thinking and a careful, testing-minded approachCollect, organize, and analyze all-source data concerning threats to Cornings intellectual property, across a variety of digital platformsProduce accurate and contextualized reporting of data generated by our software tools and multiple sourcesAuthor, review, and adapt operational documentation to support consistency and governanceCollaborate closely with IT resources to trouble-shoot, problem solve, and maintain software toolsContribute to case reviews, escalate cases based on standard process, and continuously calibrate activity according to investigative needsEducation and Skills RequiredBachelors Degree or industry equivalent work experience2-5 years experience working in security operations, incident response, or related fieldStrong analytic skills and a threat-hunting mindsetAbility to identify and prioritize riskUnderstanding of web proxy, email, endpoint, and other digital records and solutionsFamiliarity with machine learning and data science principles, tools, and techniquesComfortable working in a highly flexible, technical, and adaptive environment.Precise, clear, complete, and contextualized report writing and data analysisAble to effectively triage urgent and or high-risk matters in an effective and objective mannerExcellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build working relationships with investigative team members, internal, and external stakeholdersDemonstrates an ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with diverse groups of individualsCustomer and requirements focused with ability and drive to seek out and align to rigorous process expectationsDevelopment and support of KPI process and advanced reporting knowledge for the investigative teamAbility to work with ITAR or otherwise federally regulated materialsDesired SkillsExperience in data science, data mining, visualization, data management, APIs, scripting, such as PythonPrevious experience with Insider Threat and / or security monitoring tools or platforms such as DLP and access controlFamiliarity with case management tools and practicesExperience with data management, aggregation, and storage (warehousing or unstructured systems)Use of statistics for trending and anomaly detectionAn understanding of Cornings business and assetsCuriosity and a drive to improveThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.The range for this position is $60,532.00 - $83,232.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
