What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Communications Segment Lead position at Corning Incorporated?
As an Operations Improvement Specialist at Corning Incorporated, you will play a critical role in driving safety, quality, cost, and productivity performance in the Optical Communications segment. You will identify and lead key performance improvement projects across different process areas, including Ribboning, Buffering, Jacketing, and optical testing.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent manufacturing experience. 2-3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Computer and data analytics skills are necessary. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential. Demonstrated safety leadership is a must. Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate production teams is also required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet or exceed safety, quality, cost, capacity, and delivery objectives.
- Champion safety performance; Directly responsible for driving employee engagement and compliance.
- Manage daily production and quality issues; Quickly resolve performance issues by ensuring clear ownership of responsibilities.
- Manage quality initiatives to improve yield and reduce production errors; Lead PCPD efforts.
