Scope of Position

Scientist responsible for independently understanding surface, interfacial, and thermodynamic properties to develop better materials, processes, and products.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Leverage first principles, atomistic and/or continuum simulations to understand material behavior and link it to interfacial and surface properties of glasses, metals, and polymers.
• Work with a team of modeling and experimental scientists to solve challenging technical problems and document learnings and solutions
  
  

Required Education And Experience

• Ph. D in Material Science or related field
• Skilled in atomistic simulations, particularly molecular dynamics simulations
• Knowledge of DFT simulations and calculating thermodynamic properties of materials
• Experience with viscoelasticity and energy dissipation of materials
  
  

Desired Experience

• Understanding of laser optics and strength of materials
• Skilled with monte carlo and kinetic monte carlo simulations
• Understanding of continuum mechanics
  
  

This position supports immigration sponsorship.

The range for this position is $83,220.00 - $114,428.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
