Scope of Position :

We are looking for a Sustainability Intern who is passionate about advancing social and environmental sustainability to join our team. You can expect to gain hands-on experience in the emerging field of AI automation and Life Cycle Assessments, while working closely with our Optical Communications Sustainability Team.

Assist in the development and implementation of AI automation for sustainability requests.

Collect and analyze data for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) development.

Support general sustainability projects, including research, data management, and reporting.

Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.

Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of sustainability strategies.

Standardization of tools and resources for employee-led sustainability efforts through the Corning Sustainability Network

Requirements :

Enrolled in a program with major / studies focused on Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Environmental and / or Sustainability-related disciplines

Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later

Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Desired Skills :

Strong analytical skills with experience in AI tool development, plus PowerBI, SQL, SAP, and / or Excel

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated collaborative attitude

Innovative thinker with desire to create change

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
