Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day problem-solving & troubleshooting support to manufacturing operations
- Assume engineering ownership of multiple manufacturing lines
Monitor line performance and analyze trends
Pinpoint chronic issues and recommend corrective actionsIdentify process improvement and cost reduction opportunitiesFoster process discipline and control in manufacturingUtilize the scientific method to solve problems. Seek fundamental understanding through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts.Leads, co-leads or provide support for continuous improvement activities, cost reduction projects, equipment upgrades or safety initiatives.Participate / lead Kaizens, DMAIC, & 5S projects
Support new product and process validations to receive and integrate new technologiesSeek out industry technology advances for application on lines and equipmentConsistently and effectively communicates issues and concerns to stakeholdersInterface with operators, technicians, team leaders and peers to gain high level of process understanding. Listen to concerns and seek resolution rapidly within the functional area.Actively engage on project teams and act with urgency to close assignmentsGenerate technical documentation for experiments conducted, changes made, and lessons learned as a result of above responsibilitiesThis position requires flexibility as manufacturing issues arise and requires off-hours supportRequirements
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Plastic Engineering strongly preferred)0-2 years related manufacturing or plastics experienceDesired Skills
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding and automation systemsHands-on troubleshooting experienceExperience with data collection, visualization, and analysis. Working knowledge of statistical software packages (JMP, Minitab, e.g.)Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologyAbility to understand and interpret engineering drawings and schematics (SolidWorks / AutoCAD)Willingness to learn new technology and processes quickly. Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentWell-developed verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate scientific concepts and data to othersResults orientated and a team player. Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries to make technical decisions, present to stakeholders and integrate solutions. Able to handle multiple complex tasks and set priorities with multiple internal customers.Strong proficiency with MS Office 365 applications and exposure to low code applications (Excel VBA, Power Apps, e.g.)This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $69,791.00 - $95,963.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
