Scope of Position
The successful candidate would work in the Optical Physics and Systems development group of Corning Advanced Optics business. We work in dynamic, cross-functional teams and seek an experienced materials scientist with a passion for the development of and applications for optical materials including large single-crystal materials.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop fundamental understanding of single crystal growth processes and identify improvements to current processes to increase yield or quality of products.
- Engage across the business team – R, D,&E, production, commercial, sales- to troubleshoot and improve existing product lines
- Execute technical investigations into materials growth, properties, or application including experimental planning, execution, data analysis, and communicating results providing impact.
- Document knowledge in formal and informal reports

The range for this position is $108,674.00 - $149,427.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
