Range 2 of the Classified Management Salary Schedule, $138,920.00 - $177,306.00 based on 261 workdays

Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Appropriate experience necessary to all aspects of the position, including demonstrated success working with interdepartmental and public agencies.

- A complete set of transcripts.
- Under the direction and general supervision of the Chief of Communications, Executive Services.
- Manages the district’s public relations and communication efforts.
- Manages the district’s use of web-based communication strategies.
- Assists with management of the department budget.
- Supervises and trains assigned staff.
- Coordinates communication efforts for district-wide initiatives.
- Coordinates communication efforts with CNUSD stakeholders as it relates to LCAP programs.
- Initiates and coordinates media coverage and is available to the press during office hours and on call
- Manages training support staff.
- Manages technical support staff.
- Develops and promotes interest among groups supportive of the district’s education objectives to
- Acts as a liaison between site and/or district administrators in gathering and sharing factual
- Seeks out and cultivates news and information resources for the development of positive stories.
- Represents the district at community events.
- Analyzes communication analytics, develops reports, and makes recommendations.
- Write/edit press releases and other content for publication in web-based and print media.
- Oversees the district’s social media program.
- Collaborates with other departments, schools, and governmental entities.
- Assists in interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing ongoing legislative developments.
- Provides graphic design technical assistance in the development of materials with marketing
- Provides technical assistance for school sites’ public relations efforts.
- Implements appropriate aspects of the district’s strategic plan.
- Leads the integration of artificial intelligence into communication strategies, ensuring alignment
- Conducts evaluations for Communications staff.
- Leads the Communications team with a commitment to innovation, best practices, and strategic
- Assists departments in crisis communication.
- Maintain positive staff relations.
- Participate in professional growth activities.
- Keep informed on current trends in education and public relations.
- Develop materials to implement programs.
