Position Overview:
The Client Service Representative is an entry-level member of the Client Services team responsible for facilitating the collection of accounts receivable for assigned payors. Under the guidance of a supervisor and within established procedures, this role focuses on increasing cash flow and decreasing accounts receivable (A/R) days. The role includes follow-up with insurance companies and patients, investigating non-payments, and supporting overall collection functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid insurance claims in accordance with Coronis guidelines.
• Verify insurance eligibility using available tools and resources.
• Investigate and pursue resolution on unpaid self-pay and litigation accounts.
• Communicate with self-pay patients to resolve outstanding balances and set up payment plans.
• Collect outstanding patient balances per Coronis procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
• Process incoming mail from physicians, insurance companies, and patients related to account status.
• Manage Credit Status Reports and take appropriate actions, including account adjustments and refund processing.
• Initiate appropriate account actions such as referrals to collections or insurance adjustments.
• Attend team meetings to stay informed on updates related to collections processes.
• Identify and report payer trends, invoice issues, or end-user errors to leadership.
• Update client-specific documentation as needed.
• Assist with training and cross-training of new staff as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA and medical billing/collections regulations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in a physician office, medical billing, or insurance collections environment
