How We Work
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the recording and analysis of financial information; and implementation of established accounting policies and procedures to maintain accurate financial data, providing management reliable data for decision making in support of achieving financial goals.
Role Responsibilities
Perform general accounting duties related to complex accounts and procedures in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
Complete month-end close processes to include journal entries and balance sheet and income statement account analyses.
Complete balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure all entries posted are correct.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Create and maintain daily supporting schedules.
Develop Microsoft Excel and Access applications as needed.
Identify and resolve accounting issues or process deficiencies with the assistance of others within the finance function or with the appropriate people in other areas of the organization.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required and some formal computer training and/or experience are preferred; and 2 years related Staff Accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to research account variances and out-of-balance situations.
Strong level of personal organization with excellent oral/written communication skills. Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced team environment while effectively managing multiple projects.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and a working knowledge of Access.
