Shipping/Receiving Manager (Cold Storage)
Duties:
· Supervises two supervisors who manage a team who handles the picking, shipping, receiving and warehouse operations to ensure maximum efficiency and space utilization.
· Inspects and documents all incoming and outbound materials.
· Schedules and assigns warehouse crew and equipment to meet schedules to handle daily volume efficiently.
· Designs, monitors, and maintains a safe working environment through compliance of safety programs.
· Controls warehouse inventory levels and space to ensure smooth operations.
· Coordinates the scheduling of trucks for shipment of products to ensure the timely filling of all orders.
· Responsible for sanitation in the areas of warehouse area (wall-to-wall), dock (inside and outside), and outside truck handling area. Supervises minor maintenance activities.
· Administers various assignments and programs (e.g., pallet exchange program, food safety inspections, inventory control for ingredients and finished goods, etc.).
· Cultivates a positive and innovative work environment. Strives for timely continuous improvement.
· Plans and supervises the physical, monthly inventories, sharing the findings with other staff members to resolve discrepancies.
· Coordinates equipment, vehicle, and facility repairs with outside vendors.
· Directs personnel safety and food defense activities.
Requirements:
· 5- 7 years in Shipping/Receiving Management positions in a Cold storage facility preferable beef
· Beef or Poultry experience in a large cold storage facility
· Proven ability to effectively manage people. Demonstrated desire to lead and motivate others.
· Previous warehouse or logistics experience required in a cold storage facility.
· Demonstrated ability to manage complexity.
· Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization and to get along well with others.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer orders, shipping and receiving paperwork, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers, third party drivers, other visitors, and employees of the organization.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Proficiency with computers, and computer software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
· Demonstrated attention to detail.
· Must enjoy working in a fast-paced warehouse.
