Manager, Infrastructure Workplace Services
As an Infrastructure Engineering, Manager Network Engineer, you will utilize your experience and knowledge of network engineering to build and integrate infrastructure solutions in support of expanding and evolving wireless, LAN, WAN, Cloud, Infrastructure hardware and technology. This position will focus on delivering network infrastructure solutions to our businesses, programs, and the enterprise. This position is hands on and requires effective cross functional framework collaboration while remaining focused on target initiatives and deliverables. The candidate possesses strong technical skills focused on infrastructure build and integration from requirements gathering to implementation. The candidate will be responsible for developing documentation, diagrams, change control processes, infrastructure build delivery designs and ensuring the environments are within RTX compliance mandates.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain optimum network performance and availability
Develop training material and mentor engineering peers to empower the team in delivering high performance and scalable network solutions
Participates in emerging technology research, implement lab and Proof of Concept (POC) to document functional and performance prototype.
Develop transitional planning to integration next-generation network technologies.
Perform network traffic analysis and identify network gaps/deficiencies; provides technical and leadership in implementing network enhancements
Responsible to engage and collaborate cross functionally to troubleshoot complex network connectivity issues ensuring alignment with program, business and enterprise objectives/compliance at Tier4 level.
Collaborates and aligns with network architecture in design, feasibility and cost studies in developing network solutions to deliver enterprise and business initiatives.
Transitions support to Network Operations and NOC within the development of play books for operational sustainment.
Develop and maintain network documentation, technical papers, enterprise standards and procedures.
Provide technical leadership to engineering team in developing innovative solutions in delivery of project and business initiatives.
Engage and collaborate with business partners to translate business requirements to deliver solutions in coordination with network and security architects.
Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies while defining and monitoring access.
Participates in on-call rotations to provide 24x7 support of the RTX global network.
Qualifications
Strong troubleshooting skills with a system level approach in understanding the interaction between network and related infrastructure services
Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, encryption, network segmentation technologies: MPLS, MP-BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, DMVPN, MACSec, IPSEC, VRF
Working knowledge of network automation technologies including Python, Ansible, Git
Analytical skills – diagnosing problems, decompose complex systems and defining root cause analysis
Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and ability to work in a team, cross framework collaborative environment
Cisco certifications or equivalent industry certifications
Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, dynamic environments where agile was applied at scale
Excellent decision making and critical-thinking skills
Learn, apply and mentor engineering peers with new technologies
Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Cloud networking and design experience
Education/Experience
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or
An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
