Position Overview
The Kitchen Helper is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the kitchen and dining areas. This role ensures cleanliness, organization, and proper food handling practices while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. The Kitchen Helper will support other kitchen staff in meal preparation and service, while also helping to maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dining spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas, including floors, counters, and equipment, to meet company and legal hygiene standards.
- Ensure the dining room is always presentable, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies (utensils, cups, plates, etc.).
- Set up and tear down the coffee station for breakfast and dinner service.
- Assist in serving food during mealtimes and maintain cleanliness of the service area.
- Clean dining room equipment after each meal service, including coffee machines, soda dispensers, coolers, and more.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and stocking groceries and supplies.
- Dispose of garbage and recyclables appropriately.
- Assist in the training of new staff as required.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and handling of chemicals.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts and handle kitchen equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and push/pull carts up to 250 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of sanitation techniques and the use of chemicals.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to take on various tasks.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
