Staff Accountant
The Company
Our client is a well-respected, growing professional services firm located in the Belden Village area in North Canton, Ohio. They have over 180 employees within their seven locations. This position will be on site at their main offices in North Canton.
The Position
The Staff Accountant will be a part of a six-person accounting team, which is responsible for oversight of billing, collections, and financial health of the firm. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Senior Accountant and will work directly with the Compliance Specialist, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) daily. Under the direction of the Senior Accountant, the Staff Accountant’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Completion of timely and accurate daily bank reconciliation’s
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and reporting
- Complete journal entries and maintain accurate and up to date financial records
- Perform monthly reconciliation of firm credit cards
- New user set up & maintenance across firm software’s
- New vendor vetting & setup within firm accounting systems
- Submission of daily bank positive pay reports
- Crosstrain for coverage as needed
- Work with senior management, shareholders and clients in relation to billing and collections
- Advise the Senior Accountant and CFO on trends or daily reporting
- Compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Other administrative duties as assigned
