CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT / OPERATIONS / BUSINESS PARTNER
Park Ridge, IL - $90,000 - $110,000 benefits, liberal PTO, vision, dental
Our 75 year old commercial construction firm seeks an energetic, creative Accountant with an understanding of general operations. The ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks is a necessity. This position will manage and perform various general accounting tasks as well as back up to project accounting and general operational tasks. Applicant should have 7 - 15 years of experience in construction accounting and office operations. This is a challenging position that involves a variety of responsibilities and requires strong organizational and management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of the administrative office staff and assist the district leader and team with day-to-day operational support ensuring efficient, cost effective and professional operation.
- To become a trusted business partner to the business unit and district leaders. Ability to maintain accounting functionality/organized system.
- Oversight of payroll 300 union and no union employees.
- Analyze, organize, and prepare monthly draw submission to bank by closely working with our Project Executives and Project Managers on current projects.
- Entry of all Accounts Payable per project.
- Review accuracy of subcontractor and vendor billings and all appropriate paperwork (lien waivers, certification, etc.).
- Maintain signed Change Orders and Sub signed Change Orders.
- Assist in maintaining COI’s from subcontractors.
- Assist with expense recording, job cost tracking.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 7 - 15 years’ experience as an Accountant or Sr. Accountant within the construction field along with general knowledge of office operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree with an accounting focus, or general business.
- Ability to manage time effectively and provide innovation when needed.
- Strong analytical mind, comfort to resolve problems and works well with vendors.
- Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
- Microsoft Office, Vista by Viewpoint, preferred.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
