Compensation & Benefits:

$80,000 - $90,000 per year, Plus (BCBS) Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K with Match

Job description

Corporate Resources on behalf of our client in Itasca, IL, is immediately seeking a Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate product cost analysis, cost inventory and financial reports.

Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

• Respond to internal/external requests for product cost accounting and other financially oriented data.
• Provide information on unit costs of products and services based upon the companies' job cost accounting system.
• Analyzes product & service cost components as material, labor and overhead.
• Provides support to company management in cost estimating, product pricing, and development of annual operating budgets.
• Maintenance of accurate files and records to comply with all internal policies and procedures, financial objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Timely completion of year-end audit coordinating with auditors, providing documents, preparing accounting schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Ensures the integrity of internal/external data sources, i.e. input of daily transactions, verification of balances of various assets and liability categories, compilation of daily statements, etc.
• Participates in the development process improvements and ERP system improvements relating to the measurement, control and evaluation of costs accounting data necessary to enhance company profitability.
• Assist in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other internal and external financial reporting.

Cost Accountant Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance REQUIRED
• 7 years of cost and/or inventory accounting experience is from a manufacturing environment is required
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel REQUIRED
• Knowledge of general and cost accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with standard cost systems
