Corporate Settlement Solutions is a dynamic, forward-thinking provider of real estate settlement services to lenders, realtors, buyers, and sellers across multiple states. We are looking for a Closing Officer in the Charlevoix area to join our team on a fully in-person basis. This individual will network and build relationships with local real estate industry professionals. Examine a purchase agreement, discern what needs to be done to close the sale of the property, coordinate and follow-up on outstanding issues to transfer ownership from seller to buyer while building trusting relationships with business partners. This position will work in a collaborative, team-based environment and will have the opportunity for future growth within the title and closing team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Generate and increase orders from local realtors, lenders, attorneys and builders through business development efforts including digital marketing, in person meetings and networking events.
- Actively build trusting relationships with customers and business partners to gain repeat business and generate referrals for new business.
- Facilitate real estate closing transactions by coordinating communications and information sharing between buyers, sellers, realtors, lenders as well as attorneys.
- Provide excellent customer service through proactive and professional communication with all parties involved in the real estate transaction.
- Prior to closing, prepare closing statements ensuring accurate calculations including lender fees, proration of taxes, proration of association dues, insurance, and realtor commissions.
- Following the closing process, carry out duties including government filing, disbursement of funds, ensuring buyer has clear title, and ensuring lender has first lien.
Education and Experience:
- 2 year of experience in a business development role, with proven success in increasing orders and revenue.
- Experience working in a title insurance agency environment, preferably in a closing role.
- Residential closing experienced preferred; experience with commercial closings is a plus.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- Must be proficient with MS Office applications.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team structure.
- Must communicate professionally and clearly in written and verbal format.
- Must possess knowledge of elements and legalities involved in a real estate transaction.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and to maintain a positive, professional attitude with customers.
- Must have critical thinking skills to logically develop and implement solutions to workplace issues.
- Must have effective time management skills and ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks.
- Must be able to accept critical feedback and to deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations.
- Must be open to change and considerable variety in the workplace.

- Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
