PLEASE NOTE: This is a 1 month renewable contract.
**Local to Orange County, CA, work will be 90% remote. Would need to be available to go in office (Brea, CA) based on office needs
Summary: The main function of a clerk Legal assistant may include e-filing documents with the Court. A typical Legal assistant acts as an information and communication distributor for an office.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct staff on proper communication protocol with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.
- Assign staff to compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions and other activities.
- Review and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports.
- Supervise the maintenance of workers’ compensation files, inventory, mailing, and database systems.
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Ability to keep information organized and confidential.
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Support staff experience as a legal assistant in a worker’s compensation office preferred.
