Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Field Inspector to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough on-site inspections of commercial properties to gather the essential data needed for accurate and comprehensive cost segregation studies. Your work, involving precise measurements, detailed photography, and component identification, directly contributes to delivering significant financial benefits to our clients. This position requires regular travel to client sites and a strong ability to meticulously document findings.
Responsibilities
* Travel independently to commercial property locations primarily within the southeastern United States to conduct site inspections.
* Coordinate site access with property managers or client representatives as needed.
* Conduct thorough on-site physical inspections of building interiors, exteriors, and site improvements.
* Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements of building components and site work using appropriate tools (e.g., laser measurer, measuring tape, counting devices).
* Capture high-quality, detailed digital photographs documenting all relevant building systems, components, finishes, and site features.
* Identify, inventory, and document various building components, including structural elements, mechanical systems (HVAC), electrical systems, plumbing, interior/exterior finishes, and site improvements (paving, landscaping, utilities, etc.).
* Take meticulous, clear, and organized field notes describing observations, component details, conditions, and quantities.
* Review construction plans, blueprints, or other relevant documents on-site when available to supplement field observations.
* Organize, label, and upload all collected field data (photos, notes, measurements) in a timely and accurate manner according to company standards.
* Communicate effectively with internal project managers, engineers, and analysts to provide clarification or additional information gathered during site visits.
* Manage travel arrangements (flights, hotels, car rentals) efficiently and submit expense reports accurately and on time.
* Maintain company-issued field equipment in good working order.
Qualifications
* Required: High School Diploma or GED.
* Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
* Experience: Prior experience in construction, commercial property inspection, facilities management, architecture, engineering, or commercial appraisal is highly advantageous.
* Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to be meticulous, accurate, and highly observant during inspections and data collection.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in using measuring tools (laser measurer, tape measure, etc.) to capture accurate dimensions and quantities.
* Competence with digital photography for thorough site documentation.
* Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, plans, and specifications is strongly preferred.
* Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital file management/uploading.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage schedules, data, and reporting deadlines effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

* Good written and verbal communication skills for clear note-taking and interaction with internal teams and site contacts.
* Commitment to safety awareness while working on various job sites.
* Travel & Physical:
* Must possess a valid US Driver's License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
* Ability and willingness to travel extensively via car and potentially air, primarily within the southeastern United States. Travel is estimated to be 70% of the time, including regular overnight stays. (Adjust percentage as needed)
* Physical ability to perform extensive walking on diverse terrains (including stairs, uneven ground, active construction sites) and potentially lift/carry necessary field equipment.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.65 - $23.64 per hour
