The Future Operations Planning Analyst assists the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the operations directorate task area. The position’s primary mission involves advising the COMUSMARCENT in all matters pertaining to current and future operations and organizing, directing, and controlling USMC operations in the USCENTCOM AOR. The operations directorate handles force requirements and coordinates Global Force Management needs with the Service and USCENTCOM, overseeing training, readiness, personnel recovery, and force protection, and ensures all necessary actions are aligned for both current and future operations. The Future Operations Planning Analyst directly supports services for MARCENT through planning operations and analysis services to ensure the efficient execution of MARCENT OAMS tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide planning and analysis services in support of Future Operations.
- Participate in the MARCENT Crisis Action Planning Team and facilitate the transition of deliberate and crisis/contingency planning into executable orders.
- Conduct analyses of MARCENT equities in planning operations and corresponding force structure and coordinate with the MARCENT Plans Section for transition and development of future operations.
- Independently review and provide input regarding USCENTCOM and MARCENT plans, orders, and initiatives (up to the TS/SCI classification level).
- Produce FRAGOs, WARNOs, and branch plans in conjunction with Current Operations and Plans.
- Be cognizant of all MARCENT Future Operations, MARCENT Planning Group (G-5), and CENTCOM J-35 Plans Battle Rhythm events requiring participation and provide meeting notes and products required from these events.
- Maintain all planning products, information papers, orders, and directives in accordance with MARCENT records management requirements for future reference.
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in military operations planning, with a focus on future operations and crisis action planning.
- Experience in facilitating and transitioning deliberate and crisis/contingency planning into executable orders.
- Experience analyzing force structure and coordinating with planning sections for future operations.
- Experience producing and reviewing operational documents such as FRAGOs (Fragmentary Orders), WARNOs (Warning Orders), and branch plans.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess expert level knowledge of the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), the application of MCPP in the Joint arena, leading Operational Planning Teams (OPT), the Joint Staff Global Force Management Process, and the USMC’s capabilities/limitations in CENTCOM planning efforts and operations.
- Proficiency in participating in crisis action planning teams and facilitating the transition of plans during crisis and contingency situations.
- Ability to produce and manage various operational documents, including FRAGOs, WARNOs, and branch plans.
- Familiarity with records management requirements for maintaining planning products, information papers, orders, and directives.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
- Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
- A TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.
