The Information Operations Support assists the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the communication directorate task area. The position’s primary mission involves providing communication support to MARCENT as well as command, control, communications, and computer (C4) policy advocacy to CENTCOM Communications (CCJ6) and HQMC agencies. The Information Operations Support directly supports MARCENT G-6 in the implementation and execution of its required functions to include enterprise network solutions, information assurance, division web portals for content management, systems planning and engineering, network operations and support, and communication and IT planning, including the support and maintenance of server, workstation, and network operating systems to ensure the efficient execution of MARCENT OAMS tasks. The Information Operations Support directly supports MARCENT G-6 in the implementation and execution of its required functions to include enterprise network solutions, information assurance, division web portals for content management, systems planning and engineering, network operations and support, and communication and IT planning, including the support and maintenance of server, workstation, and network operating systems to ensure the efficient execution of MARCENT OAMS tasks. The Information Operations Support will perform the following duties:
- Provide information operation support, consisting of support and maintenance of server, workstation, and network operating systems.
- Provide helpdesk support for MARCENT CLASSIFIED and UNCLASSIFIED data services.
- Manage storage, network, voice/video service hardware, software and maintain the integrity of software and services.
- Provide senior level planning, scheduling, testing and coordination for installation of upgrades and track service dependencies.
- Coordinate and work closely with Marine Corps Cyber Operations Group (MCCOG), and CENTCOM J6 to maintain and troubleshoot service outages.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems as required and serve as one of the highest levels of escalation for service and security issues within MARCENT.
- Write and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP), and desktop procedures.
- Provide helpdesk services on a professional basis and clearly explain the status of the ticket order to the requestor. Helpdesk services shall cover the core hours of 0600 to 1800 Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays).
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Compliant with current DoD IAT certification Level 1 or above or SEC certified and shall have CISCO Voice/Video certifications and Microsoft Operating System certification.
- Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in supporting and maintaining server, workstation, and network operating systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Experience providing helpdesk support for both classified and unclassified data services, with a focus on customer service and issue resolution.
- Involvement in managing storage, network, voice/video services, and ensuring the integrity of software and hardware.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating IT upgrades and installations, including tracking service dependencies.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of server, workstation, and network operating systems, and their maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage and maintain network services, including voice/video and storage systems.
- Skills in writing and maintaining system documentation, SOPs, and desktop procedures.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
- Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
- A Secret clearance is required for this position.
