The MCLOG JNTC Joint Logistics SME will analyze, create (new)/modify (existing), validate, and document exercise products to MCLOG and JNTC personnel and personnel participating in MCLOG and JNTC training programs in the fundamentals, principles, techniques, processes and best practices associated with the planning/execution of Joint logistics at the operational and tactical level of war. The MCLOG JNTC SME provides subject matter expertise (SME) and instruction, mentorship, coaching, guidance and subject matter expertise to MCLOG and JNTC personnel and personnel participating in MCLOG and JNTC training programs in the fundamentals, principles, techniques, processes and best practices associated with the execution of U.S. military logistics operations at the operational and tactical level of war.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The MCLOG JNTC Joint Logistics SME will analyze, create (new)/modify (existing), validate, and document exercise products to MCLOG and JNTC personnel and personnel participating in MCLOG and JNTC training programs in the fundamentals, principles, techniques, processes and best practices associated with the planning/execution of Joint logistics at the operational and tactical level of war. The MCLOG JNTC SME provides subject matter expertise (SME) and instruction, mentorship, coaching, guidance and subject matter expertise to MCLOG and JNTC personnel and personnel participating in MCLOG and JNTC training programs in the fundamentals, principles, techniques, processes and best practices associated with the execution of U.S. military logistics operations at the operational and tactical level of war.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Participate in exercise/wargame planning and design (e.g., Concept Development Conference (CDC), Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Main Planning Conference (MPC), and Final Planning Conference (FPC)) to support MCLOG and JNTC exercises/training events/wargames and exercises/training events/wargames in which MCLOG and JNTC participates.
- Provide logistics expertise in support of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating Joint logistics considerations within MCLOG and JNTC training programs.
- Use Joint exercise design knowledge, the Military Decision-Making Process, and support concepts to provide a constructive training environment for exercises/training events/wargames to observe learning outcomes.
- Develop geographically specific, reality-based, theater-level logistics scenarios, threads, and injects for inclusion into Joint Master Scenario Events List (JMSEL) for MCLOG and JNTC exercises/training events/wargames.
- Support the Marine Corps in leading Component Interoperability Training.
- Support Marine Corps Plans, Policy, & Operations and Marine Forces.
- Provide Joint logistics role-player support by performing role player functions and/or by providing training and instruction to personnel designated to fill Joint logistics role player assignments during exercises, training events, and wargames.
- Provide recommendations to MCLOG to design future exercises to more effectively train commanders of logistics organizations and senior logistics staff officers.
- Perform specific tasks to include:
- Development and Presentation of technical papers for JNTC technical groups.
- Draft white papers on JNTC technical concepts in support of MCLOG and JNTC Technical Managers.
- Review Standards Documentation input and provide constructive comments and recommendations to MCLOG.
- Formulate Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and Project Management Artifacts in support of MCLOG and JNTC Technical Managers and Director.
- Composition and review of Budget Development Guidance and Program Execution Budget Request recommendations to MCLOG.
- Maintain MCLOG process documentation.
- Engage other Service Technical LNOs on Training Transformation or JNTC issues daily. Research and analyze inter Service joint training opportunities. Forward recommendations and contact information to MCLOG leaders as required.
- BA/BS required; MA/MS desired.
- Marine Corps Command & Staff College or Equivalent required.
- A minimum of 3 years of Joint experience required.
- A minimum of 15 years active service in Armed Services.
- Familiarity with the Marine Corps.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the joint operational command level.
- Practical knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process is required.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and/or SharePoint.
- Provides joint logistics expertise to all areas of the MCLOG program.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
- Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
- This is a Part-time On Call position, with the expectation of 18-26 weeks of work per year (negotiable).
- Remote work authorized. Onsite support required in Twentynine Palms, CA for 2-4 weeks at a time, 3-5 times per year.
- A NATO Secret Clearance is required for this position.
