High school graduate or GED; able to do simple arithmetic

Knowledge of quantity food preparation and service
Personal : Required :
Knowledge of cooking techniques, procedures, and use and care of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Able to communicate with students, teachers, and food service personnel. Relates positively to others.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in appraising situations and making decisions.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed.

Demonstrates good judgment and knowledge of District policies and procedures which support the activities of the Department
FUNCTION :
Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, performs assigned functions in food preparation, service and clean up.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS :
Prepare food according to work schedules and standardized recipes Set up serving counter according to steamtable diagram
Serve food using effective time and motion techniques
Work in dish room scraping, rinsing, racking, and washing trays and silverware. Wash and sanitize pots and pans.
Perform assigned clean-up of kitchen, dish room, and dining room, including equipment : and floors.
May assist with record keeping, making bank deposits, or cashiering if assigned. Will be held responsible for all moneys when performing these duties.
Assist in cleaning equipment and preparing leftover food for return to the G.B.A. Food Service Facility or storage at secondary level.
Lift or carry 1 to 40 lbs. frequently, 41 to 60 lbs. occasionally, with assistance and proper lifting technique.
Bend, stoop and reach above shoulder level occasionally, work with machinery frequently.
Climb ladders, stairs, and ramps occasionally. Walk frequently and stand continuously.
