- Preferred : High School graduate or equivalent
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Required : Good communicating and reasoning skills.Preferred : Possess a Texas operator's or class C driver's license and be insurable by the District.Experience :
Required : One (1) year experience in cleaning methods and procedures, maintenance repairs, security and plant operation.PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Demonstrate supervisory ability.Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime if necessary to ensure that extra-curricular and school rental requirements are satisfied and in the event emergency situations arise.Demonstrate willingness to work flexible hours when needed.Ability to communicate with the Principal and school staff so the necessary support requirements for educational programs may be provided.Ability to communicate with persons at all levels in the school community.Ability to communicate, delegate and work with co-workers in a cooperative manner.Ability and willingness to work any shift.FUNCTION :
The Head Custodian provides supervision of custodians, performs cleaning assignments and is responsible for custodial and maintenance operations, ensuring that standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, security and other desirable environmental conditions are met in order to support the education mission of the District.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS :
Conform to all Board Policies and Procedures, Administrative directives, and Departmental Rules and Regulations.Ensure all Board Policies and Procedures, Administrative Directives and Departmental Rules and Regulations are adhered to by all custodial staff.Maintain the cleanliness of the building and grounds inall respects.Unlock school gates and doors as instructed.Turn off alarm systems.Check / turn on heating ventilation and air condition systems. Open office area.Turn on hall lights as instructed.Open gang restrooms as instructed.Ensure that flags are put up and taken down.Inspect mechanical gauges in mechanical room and coordinate with maintenance if necessary.Inspect exterior of building for vandalism and graffiti. Contact maintenance before 8 : 00 a.m.Open rooms for teachers and substitute teachers as requested.Perform custodial duties as per work schedule.Receive materials from warehouse and store in assigned area.Assist Custodial Area Supervisor in stocking custodial supplies.Assist Custodial Area Supervisor in dispensing and tracking custodial supplies.Assist Custodial Area Supervisor in substitute orientation. (Describe areas of responsibility)Advise the Principal, Campus Coordinator and Area Supervisor of repair, maintenance and building safety issues.Communicate with Custodial Area Supervisor and / or Principal any and all necessary information from custodians, teachers and staff.Ability to work evening shift as needed.Perform other duties as required for the daily operation of the school.WORKING CONDITIONS
