Job Summary And Qualifications
We are seeking a Manager (RN) within Risk for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:
- * As the Patient Safety/Risk Manager, you will be responsible for the hospital’s risk management activities, which includes coordinating insurance coverage;
- * You will work with defense legal counsel to coordinate claim investigations; Process claims against the facility, including the preparation of records, documents, and providing to defense attorneys and requested information as necessary while maintaining privilege of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP);
- * You will understand and use basic statistical methods and formal analytic methods; Conduct Patient Safety/Risk Management educational programs that provide front line staff with the tools and equipment to be accountable for their role in patient safety and risk activities;
- * You will comply with the Joint Commission’s risk management standards and take steps to ascertain that risks are minimized through follow-up and actions on all regulatory/insurance survey report recommendations/deficiencies;
- * You will review and follow up with RM Notification reports for timeliness and completeness; Assure timely reporting of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) to the Patient Safety Organization as assigned;
- * You will assist in identifying, trending, and investigating patient safety incidents, medical errors and potential risks in the facility.
- * Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
- * Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- * Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare field preferred
- * Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- * 2 years of acute care clinical experience required.
- * Experience in patient safety, risk management and/or quality preferred. Healthcare experience should be recent and within a clinical setting such as hospital, ambulatory surgery center, etc.
- * Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, willingness to learn, comfortable and skilled at working with physicians and healthcare providers, excellent
