Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to determine their healthcare needs.
- Administer treatments, including spinal taps and tube feeding, as required by patient conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address both physical and behavioral health needs.
- Collaborate with custody staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients on health management, preventive care, and family planning options.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices in correctional healthcare.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient care protocols, and behavioral health principles.
- Experience with spinal taps, tube feeding, and other advanced clinical procedures.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is preferred but not mandatory.
