Correctional Medical Management is passionate about positively changing healthcare for the good of our patients. We are seeking a nurse to join our day shift team at the Minnehaha County Jail. In this role you will provide patient education, preventative care and clinical care to incarcerated patients. You will work in a supportive and safe environment in collaboration with correctional officers to provide quality healthcare to an underserved population. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients
- Medication administration
- Perform assessments and provide healthcare education
- Emergency response
- Prepare and maintain records, charts and reports
- Manage acute and chronic health conditions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly
- Ensure all nursing protocols are followed
- Evaluate client behaviors, symptoms, and effects or medications/treatments
- Obtain diagnostic tests
- Assist with medical or minor surgical procedures
- Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with patients, staff and the public

Requirements:
