Job Description Summary
We are seeking professional, dedicated, and reliable candidates to work at the Suffolk County House of Correction in Boston.
Responsibilities to provide complete administrative or clinical tasks to assist the work of the physicians and other health professionals in a correctional setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct care to include gathering vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, food and fluid intake and output.
- Draw, collect and coordinate blood and specimens.
- Perform and assist offenders with feeding, basic hygiene and other activities of daily living.
- Perform timely, accurate and concise documentation of patient care in the approved format.
- Identify and maintain professional boundaries to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship.
- Ensure compliance with all facility and CPS policies, and Federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines including HIPPA.
- Coordinate care closely with custody staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship.
- Maintain ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment.
- Deliver care to offenders in a nonjudgmental/nondiscriminatory manner to protect the autonomy, dignity and rights of offenders.
- Understand and adhere to security rules and regulations of the institution.
- Other duties as assigned
Type of position
Full time: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM -3:30 PM
Minimum Requirements
High School
- CPR certification required
- Employment history within the medical field preferred.
