The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Department receives federal grant funds from the Title I, Part D grant through the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to provide supplemental academic and vocational services to 21-years-old or younger incarcerated individuals. The Title I Program Research Specialist 1 (PRS1) position is funded with Title I grant funds and reports to a Program Research Specialist 2.This position will be involved in all aspects of managing the Title I grant, including, but not limited to knowing the grant requirements and allowable costs, preparing the grant application for yearly submission, audit preparation, and data reporting. Data reporting includes statistical summaries, tables, and written narratives that are produced and distributed by the PRS1. Working knowledge of Excel is required. Experience using a statistical software package such as SPSS or STATA is strongly preferred. The following are additional duties that may be performed by the PRS1.• Become knowledgeable with the rules and allowable costs for applying for, administering, and managing the Title I, Part D grant.• Perform data manipulation tasks with quantitative data, such as data construction, merging data files, and data cleaning.• Perform descriptive statistical analyses of data, using computer software.• Prepare tables, graphs, fact sheets, and written reports summarizing research results.• Prepare written technical reports containing the analysis and interpretation of study findings along with recommended courses of action based on study findings.• Assist with other grant management tasks and reporting related to the 21-year-old or younger incarcerated individual population.
