What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Corrigan Oil?
Reports to: General Manager
Job Overview: The server is responsible for ensuring that customers have a memorable dining experience. This position requires clear communication skills, patience, and attentiveness. Server should be adept at working in fast-paced, unpredictable environments. Server should be able to think on their feet and work well with the entire staff. They must also be able to provide superior guest service and make certain that the dining experience, from the food to the environment, is exemplary.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
- Greet customers upon entrance
- Prepare dining tables by arranging condiments, kitchenware, and decorations
- Assist patrons with ordering by answering questions about food and drinks
- Take orders to kitchen staff and notify them of any special requests or dietary needs
- Deliver food to guests in a timely manner and attend to the needs of guests throughout the dining process
- Issue bills and obtain payment
- Assist with vendor check-in
- Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning materials
- Ability to talk, hear, stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency or hazmat situation
- Ability to handle high levels of stress
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness
- Follows company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines
Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Education
- Ability to read, understand, and write the English language at the eight-grade level
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations in order to make change
- Must be at least 18 years of age
