Coating Inspector CIP 2/ CIP 1 - Corrosion Technician

CorrTech is expanding our Long Island, NY office and is currently seeking a full-time, credentialed Coating Inspector to join our small team (30 ). We are looking for a self-motivated, organized candidate who demonstrates thoroughness and integrity in working with colleagues and clients. Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure inspection support
• Water storage tank pre-maintenance inspections and coating assessment
• Painting Inspection and Condition Assessment on Water Tanks
• Support additional job requirements on a range of infrastructures; Cathodic Protection system testing/installation, documentation, and reporting
• Construction activities and infrastructure inspection support (high performance coating and concrete, cathodic protection system installations, QA/QC field testing of construction projects)
• Computer literate with applications of Microsoft Office
• Ability to understand and carryout instructions and follow standard operating procedures and safety
• Ability to collaborate and work well as an integral part of a working team
• Coating Specification preparation and customer support

Qualifications:

• Required: NACE (AMPP) Level 2 Coating Inspector or Level 1 Coating Inspector with at least 2 years of experience, eligible to obtain CorrTech Inc Sponsored CIP Level 2 within one month of employment
• Minimum: Highschool diploma
• Ability to pass a DOT drug test is necessary for all nuclear work and many of the NYC jobs. This includes recreational and medicinal cannabis/THC products
• Strong communicator and detailed oriented
• Ability to produce field reports, technical activation reports, and annual survey reports and typewritten data using Microsoft Word and Excel is required for this job.
• Proven safety record
• Work independently and with project team as required
• Confined space, respirator and safe workplace training and certification a plus

Potential Physical Requirements:

Job requires physical capabilities related to frequent standing, kneeling, walking, tank climbing required. Occasional confined space and working at height required. May be required to lift/pull up to 50lbs; must be physically capable of performing manual tasks without restrictions. Required to work from the Westbury office, and drive and travel to project sites principally within Suffix County NY, and additional project sites within NY, NJ, CT as well overnight travel to other locations and States as required. Must hold a valid state-issued driver’s license (preferably NY) and have a vehicle to use if necessary to travel to/from job sites. Travel is not expected to be frequent but may be required occasionally for up to two weeks at a time.
