We are looking for some with SUD Counseling experience to join our team. If you are passionate about working with individuals to support there recovery, and interested in providing integrated, stage-wise treatment for clients who have a substance use disorder, this is the perfect position for you!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical treatment to clients as scheduled, measured by meeting productivity targets, client surveys and supervisory evaluation.
- Provide individual and group addiction counseling guided by the clients’ Treatment Plans.
- Use cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention to promote recovery.
- Use Motivational Interviewing techniques to guide services.
- Understand and use other evidence based practice intervention techniques that are recognized for substance Use Disorders.
- Assess and track clients’ stages of change readiness and stages of treatment to determine treatment approach and interventions.
- Ensure that client has authorizations to ensure payment for services.
- Complete all client documentation, including but not limited to Assessments, Treatment Plans and Reviews, Client Contacts and Progress Notes within the specified time frames according to requirements in COMAR and the CRMHS Employee Handbook.
- Prepare an aftercare transition plan for each client at earliest possible time and review prior to discharge.
- Refer clients for other needed services, as identified in the assessment and review process.
- Maintain client confidentiality as required by Maryland law and HIPAA.
- Maintain billable hours, with schedule responsive to client needs.
- Communicate inclusively, sharing information with other professionals working with the clients.
- Actively participate as a positive member of the clinic environment.
- Attend & participate in team and supervision meetings.
- Comply with agency training requirements and maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Certification or Licensure by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Professional Liability Insurance required. Bachelor’s Degree in human/social services field (social work, psychology, public or community health) and at least 1 year experience working with integrated co-occurring treatment preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Skill in applying varied interventions with individuals and families of various cultures.
- Ability to work independently and implement time management strategies.
- Ability to demonstrate positive team interactions with other clinic staff.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to establish productive working relationships.
- Understanding of safety requirements and the ability to utilize de-escalation techniques during crises.
- Computer skills sufficient to enter the required data and documentation.
- Pass the agency’s background check.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record to support insurability by the agency’s insurance carrier.
- Work related use of a vehicle carrying minimum of 100/300/50 liability insurance.
- Possession of CPR/First Aid certification, if identified as required.
