ROLE IS BASED IN CORSICANA, TEXAS
Summary/Objective
The role of the Plant Purchaser is responsible for procurement and purchasing of items needed to support day-to-day operations in the facility.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for buying items, delivery and terms
- Responsible for issuing purchase orders based on requirements
- Responsible for managing purchase orders, tracking and expediting
- Manage and negotiate vendor pricing and terms
- Verify vendor acknowledgements and ensure timely delivery
- Review and resolve back orders and returns
- Expedite orders as required
- Collaborate with other teams to resolve quantity, quality, and freight issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Search for new sources to reduce cost and/or improve quality
- Responds to inquiries from staff and administration regarding purchasing procedures and status of orders and items
- Responsible for the proper maintenance of files and documents within department

Works in a office/plant environment. Office will have air conditioning/heat, but the plant area is not climate controlled.

Travel
Occasional travel required to other facilities across the U.S to support projects.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years’ experience – preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic issues
- Proficiency in English
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer-oriented
