Mowing Crew Member
Position Summary:
Mowing Crew Members typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include sod lying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortar-less segmental concrete masonry wall units.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading and unloading work trucks with product and tools.
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, skid steers, chain saws, gas clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
- Gather and remove litter.
- Maintain and repair tools, equipment or structures.
- Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees using hand of automatic sprayers or spreaders.
- Maintain irrigation systems.
- Water lawns, trees, or plants and adjust the amount of water consumption to prevent waste
- Prune trees and shrubs.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to get rid of pests, fungus and diseases that destroy plants.
- Mow lawns with riding lawnmowers or manual mowers.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment.
- Whack weeds, trim bushes, and edge lawns using a variety of machines.
- Sweep walkway of debris.
- Mulch and fertilize flower beds.
- Maintain supplies and inventory
- Assist with Snow Removal in winter season
- Operate snow blowers and salt spreaders.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Willing to work extended hours in inclement weather.
- Lift, pull, and push materials and equipment.
- Detail and safety oriented.
- Able to follow specific detail and be self-motivated.
- Able to learn and develop skills over time.
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Excellent Attendance
- Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, twist and stand for extended periods of time
- Willing to work flexible and long hours with weekends sometimes required
Working Conditions
Corso's Landscape operates year around with exposure to all seasons and weather conditions. Candidates must be willing to work in cold, hot, humid, rainy, and windy conditions. Employees are responsible for providing their own weather-appropriate attire.
