What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator position at Cortec Corporation?
Perform manual and administrative duties related to inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of material, equipment, and supplies to ensure the continuation of production.
Accurately and efficiently receive, inspect, and record shipments of raw material or products. Follow company policies for inbound shipment verification and handling. Utilizes forklifts, scanners, inventory, and computer system in performance of duties.
The following are essential job functions.
- Supply all raw materials for production and replenish supplies from the warehouse when inventory is low.
- Transport finished goods and scrap material into staging area.
- Move material within the plant and worksite.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisor and others using two-way radio, and other methods as appropriate.
- Fill out pick sheets, and initial that product is issued.
- Perform cycle counting in an accurate and timely manner.
- Efficiently and safely unloads trucks using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Receives, unpacks, and verifies all incoming materials according to established company procedure.
- Using methods appropriate to the specific chemical, prepare an accurate sample of all required chemicals received, and convey to lab for quality control testing. Refers to company work instructions and SOPs to ensure quality samples are procured.
- Maintains an accurate log of all items received in the ERP system.
- Moves approved materials to proper storage area in warehouse.
- Delivers all materials received to appropriate department/area in a timely fashion.
- Keeps receiving area free from material backlogs to ensure space for staging of product and materials.
- Utilize inventory control scanning process, computers, handheld devices, and other technology in performance of duties.
- Maintains clean and safe work environment. Responsible for cleanliness of raw material warehouses.
- Identifies quality or safety concerns.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum Experience: No experience needed. Operator or factory/warehousing experience preferred. Forklift experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
