We are seeking a Project Planner for our Port Allen, LA facility.
Job Summary:
The Project Planner's primary responsibility is to communicate and initiate production activities. This involves:
- Communication: Liaising between different departments, primarily sales and production, to convey what needs to be done to meet the customers’ requirements.
- Creating Work Orders: Accurately documenting the quantities, required materials, resources, specifications and timelines for required production tasks.
- Scheduling: Timing the execution of work orders in line with production schedules, ensuring that they align with the overall manufacturing plan or to meet specific deadlines.
- Tracking & Updating: Monitoring the progress of work orders, making adjustments as needed, and updating records to reflect changes in status, any deviations from the plan, or issues encountered.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that each work order includes or adheres to quality requirements and standards to maintain product quality.
- Problem Resolution: Identifying and informing sales of any issues that might delay or affect the fulfillment of work orders, such as material shortages.
By managing these responsibilities effectively, the person who makes work orders ensures that manufacturing processes run smoothly, production goals are met, and that there is a seamless flow from planning to execution.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Oil and Gas Industry sales experience preferred.
Specialized knowledge, critical skills and competencies: A general understanding of the oil and gas industry and common industry practices/applications. Basic sales and communication skills along with an ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse global customer base. Must have general computer skills.
