Overview
Corten is recruiting a Senior Associate who will support all aspects of the firm’s investment and portfolio management processes, from initial deal sourcing through asset disposition. Development of marketing and reporting presentations, as well as the completion of other special projects required for strategic or marketing purposes will also be part of the responsibilities assigned to this professional on an as needed basis. The Senior Associate serves a critical role in our entrepreneurial and fast-growing real estate investment company, working most closely with the investment team, but also directly with senior management, and having a clear path to advancement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete underwriting, market analyses, due diligence and financial analyses
- Oversee/assist in the due diligence process across all aspects of the transaction, including physical, financial, legal and operational reviews
- Prepare investment memoranda for new acquisitions as well as asset dispositions; prepare other documents required by the firm's investment committee and assist in the compilation of meeting minutes
- Maintain valuation models, monitor investments and coordinate asset management
- Conduct market research to identify potential target markets for new investment opportunities
- Develop marketing and reporting presentations, fundraising collateral, other research reports, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with a high degree of attention to detail
- Demonstrated/strong modeling and presentation skills in the real estate sector
· An understanding of real estate investment terminology and complex financial structures
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a highly professional manner when dealing with colleagues and third parties
· Must possess Microsoft Office skills and demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Must be a highly organized self-starter that functions well in a team of multi-taskers
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and consistently meeting deadlines
- Must be willing to travel; this is an in-office position
Education & Experience
- 4 years of relevant real estate investment or finance experience required
- Bachelor’s degree required - business, finance, economics or real estate emphasis preferred
