What You’ll Do
- Lead the site staff to achieve all field and production demands, while also hitting quality, safety, and delivery targets.
- Attract, maintain, coach, support and develop employees in a manner that fosters effective collaboration and teamwork, while demonstrating and modeling the values of the company. Enable and encourage direct reports to leverage their full potential and achieve business results.
- Develop and achieve business plan and budget targets.
- Oversee projects, team members, timelines and deliverables to ensure productivity objectives are met.
- Implement best practices at plant and ensure these practices are sustained.
- Ensure values of the company are embedded in the culture of the site including safety, respect, environmental stewardship and high ethics.
- Provide oversight of timing, flow and seed handling techniques to ensure quality plan standards are met.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, plant policies and standard operating procedures, as well as all regulatory compliance (safety, wage/hour laws, etc).
- Provide oversight of processing regulated and restricted products to comply with the regulatory standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- You have a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in operations, agriculture, business, engineering or related applicable discipline.
- You have 7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment and supervising.
- You have strong interpersonal skills, including good written and verbal communication skills.
- You have a demonstrated understanding and application of human resources / people management practices.
- You are able to lead leaders and influence/collaborate cross-functionally.
- You have an understanding of Lean production systems (i.e. Toyota Production System, etc.).
- You understand advanced maintenance concepts, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and risk-based reliability methodology.
- You understand change management principles.
- You are willing and able to relocate for future career opportunities.
- You have a valid US drivers license.
- You are willing and able to work extra hours including weekends and holidays when required during seasonal peaks to ensure production demands are met both in the plant and in the field.
- Experience in row crop with emphasis on seed production.
