Cortina Solutions is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a government customer in Albuquerque, NM.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Duties:
- Perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established cyber standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies
- Provide senior-level security assessment and authorization (A&A) consulting related to the maintenance, upgrade, and technology insertion for a DoD-approved classified network with multiple sites
- Develop new accreditation approaches to support the rapid deployment of unaccredited applications by supervising the development process (inside development enclaves), the risk assessment process, and the deployment process of these custom-developed applications
- Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establish system security designs
- Design, develop, implement and/or integrate cyber and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments
- Build cyber requirements into systems deployed to operational environments
- Assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of agency security policy and enterprise solutions
- Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle
- Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations
- Support security authorization activities in compliance with DoD RMF, the NIST RMF process, and prescribed customer business processes for security engineering
- Apply system security engineering expertise in one or more of the following: system security design process; engineering life cycle; information domain; cross domain solutions; commercial off-the-shelf and government-off-the-shelf cryptography; identification, authentication and authorization; system integration; risk management; intrusion detection; contingency planning; incident handling; configuration control; change management; auditing; principles of cyber; and security testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience with DoD
- Strong understanding of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and associated cybersecurity policies
- Certifications such as CISSP, CASP , CISM, or GIAC are desirable
- Proficiency in secure system design, vulnerability assessments, encryption technologies, and security tools
- Experience integrating and validating security controls in system architectures and networks
- Knowledge of security compliance requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and DoD standards
- Experience in identifying, mitigating, and documenting security vulnerabilities and incidents
- Ability to analyze system vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and implement secure design solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Active Top Secret Security clearance
