NOTICE OF JOB VACANCY

Job Title: Housing Coordinator – Department of Social Services

This position involves overseeing and coordinating a variety of housing-related functions and programs for community members seeking temporary and/or emergency housing. The incumbent will serve as the contact for housing assistance and liaise with community partners. The incumbent will also assist and facilitate inspections as required and manage a caseload and housing procurement plans. This work is performed under the general direction of Commissioner of Social Services or his/her designee with leeway allowed for carrying out specific details of the program. Does related work as required.

Work Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week with benefits

Salary: $24.5633-$31.0910/hr.(CSEA Union)

Location: Cortland County Department of Social Services

Status: Competitive, Provisional

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:

(a) Possession of an Associate’s degree and two (2) years of full‑ time paid work experience in a human services position; OR

(b) Possession of high school diploma and four (4) years of full-time work experience in a human services position.

Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate to the vehicles operated. Failure to maintain a NYS driver’s license including driving privileges throughout employment will result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
