Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Medical Records Clerk maintains the medical records per State and Federal Regulations as well as professional standards of practice and facility policies and procedures to ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical records. The Medical Records Clerk manages all aspects of the medical patient record from admission to discharge. Your Mission:
- Exceptional Customer Service: Greet visitors with a smile, offer refreshments, engage in friendly conversations, and fulfill their requests.
- Effective Communication: Answer multiple line telephone, direct callers to the appropriate person or department, and take accurate messages.
- Guiding Guests: Escort visitors, when necessary, provide information about our facility and services, and ensure compliance with rules.
- Administrative Excellence: Assist in administrative tasks, maintain files, operate office machines, and order supplies as needed.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assembles protect and collect records
- Monitors physician visits and documentation.
- Tracks incomplete records.
- Produce records on request according to corporate guidelines.
- Manage orders.
- Perform Quality Assurance Performance. Improvement (QAPI) checks for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain a supply of charts for admission and readmission.
- Proactively maintain daily census listing, daily room assignment listing, physician, resident list, admission, discharge, and transfer register.
- Prepares requests for medical information as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator
- Manage residents' clinical records from admission to discharge.
- File and retrieve paper medical records of in-house residents.
- Maintain files in a secure area.
- Promotes guidelines for documenting, storing, and retrieving information.
- • As applicable, communicate new and revised processes and/or guidelines to medical records staff and others.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records.
- • Orders supplies and forms as needed.
- • Comply with Company and department policies and procedures.
- • Performs any various work assignments as may be required.
Your Skills:
- Proven working experience in a relevant field.
- Ability to work independently and stay motivated.
- Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Professionalism coupled with speed and attention to detail.
- Proficient in the English language
- High school degree
- Experience in ICD 10 diagnosis coding and medical terminology.
