Cortland Repertory Theatre (CRT), a nonprofit, professional live theatrical company with locations in the City of Cortland and Preble, NY, is seeking Box Office Team Members to join our seasonal team for the summer performance season.
Position Overview
CRT is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our summer box office team. As the first point of contact for many patrons, our box office staff play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional experience for our audiences. We are looking for mature, reliable, and personable team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment to represent CRT with professionalism and warmth.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the front line of customer service for patrons—handling ticket sales, inquiries, and issues in person, by phone, and via email.
- Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on hospitality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth box office operations.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members in a respectful, enthusiastic, and team-oriented manner.
- Address patron questions, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and care.
- Assist with daily administrative and operational tasks as needed.
- Attend opening nights of all five summer productions to offer informed insights to patrons.
Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills, with the ability to use electronic ticketing software.
- Strong communication and public relations skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and confident with basic math.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Comfortable handling fast paced and sometimes stressful situations with maturity.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness and ability to travel between CRT’s Cortland and Little York Pavilion (Preble) locations.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Job Details
- Summer/Seasonal in-person position: May 5 (or thereabouts) – August 15
- Hours: 35 - 40 hours per week.
- Schedule Includes day and evening shifts, weekdays and weekends as needed.
- Work Locations: CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson St., Cortland and the Little York Pavilion, Dwyer Memorial Park, 6799 Little York Lake Road, Preble.
Compensation:
$15.50 per hour. Overtime available.
