Summary: The Loan Officer supports the strategic direction of the Branch and Market by attracting new business and expanding current Banking relationships through trusted communication, community advocacy, and promotion of Bank products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lending & business development:
- Prospect, cultivate, and grow business relationships which result in quality loan activity.
- Use extensive industry knowledge to oversee all steps of the lending process.
- Analyze in-depth financial data to support credit decisioning and present data to the Loan Committee and shareholders.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and insurance guidelines and licensures.
- Assemble, manage, and retain customer files and documentation accurately and according to Bank policies.
- Champion change by maintaining strategic agility, exercising sound judgement, and persevering in the face of adversity.
Relationships & community advocacy:
- Advocate for the community and foster professional relationships through civic engagement and participation in community functions.
- Partner with other areas of the Bank to make and accept referrals to business partners to ensure all customer financial needs are met.
Key Competencies:
The ideal candidate for a Loan Officer possesses a combination of education and experience to be able to perform the primary duties of this position with little supervision, managing multiple projects simultaneously. They adapt easily to system, process, product, and service changes, and are able to reason, problem solve, and think critically. They must demonstrate a high level of integrity, personal diplomacy, and respect. Extensive understanding of Federal banking regulations, economic impacts, and industry workflow is a must, as well as the ability to understand and abide by all Bank policies and procedures.
