The Opportunity
This position is for a 2nd shift Maintenance & Repair Technician. This is an hourly position that does not involve direct management of people. In this role, you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Maintain optimal utilization of plant equipment.
Required
BACKGROUND REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in machine repair of hydraulic trim presses, vacuum forming, robotic trim, extrusion equipment, air compressors, chillers and assembly equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and to climb into & on machines.
- The ability to work at a height in excess of 60’
- Minimum 2 years of experience and/or related course work
- Must be able to pass the Process Tech Competency Test
- Should have standard knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to use email functions on the computer.
- Should have standard knowledge of tools including, welding, mills, lathes, cutting equipment, metal shear and brake, measuring, and drill tools
- Ability to obtain Hi-Lo Certification
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles

- Following standard process, Set up/Change over machines and equipment to run different production tooling as needed in a safe and timely manner while complying with quality concerns as needed.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
- Responsible for scheduled process monitoring and associated repairs/actions.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery; pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical and/or other identified problems/opportunities as needed.
- Responsible for process-related equipment failures including but not limited to: load table, frames, articulates, clamps, cylinders, airlines, EOATS, router bits.
- Continually maintain technical knowledge and knowledge of alternative work through internal or external training classes and/or seminars.
- Address all machine-related and part quality issues, as well as all other issues, with co-workers and management personnel with accuracy, in a timely manner, giving updates and schedules as necessary.
- Provide and train/teach technical (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic) expertise to machine operators to assist in creating and implementing the best solutions to manufacturing challenges.
- Complete appropriate paperwork, including process monitoring sheets, change over set up sheets, and preventive maintenance records to ensure adequate documentation needed to enhance the elimination of equipment downtime.
- Document hours and work activity daily in record-keeping system—Maintenance Connection.
- Backup for the breakdown tech role as needed.
- Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback and communication to co-workers and management, including training and validating/appraising work as appropriate.
- Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, IATF, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Not limited to and including any other maintenance job functions or other duties as assigned.
- Operate lathes, mills, plasma cutters and cutting equipment to fabricate/repair machine/mechanical equipment parts.
- Operate metal shear and brake, and drill tools
